Abstract photo of surfboard fins

Ryan grew up in the great lake state of Michigan in the heartland of the USA. Family summer trips to the mountains or the sea inspired him to one day live by the ocean. Eventually moving to the east coast and then to California, surf culture and the open road have inspired his life and are his principal subject matter. Ryan documents good sliding, sunsets, foam, rusty vans, and sleds with one to five fins. An avid supporter of the Surfrider Foundation, his work has been shown in galleries internationally and published in various surf magazines. All images shot on film. 35mm, 120mm, and polaroid.
